Weekly mowing
I come out once a week and do the full visit: mow front and back, trim, edge and blow off. This is the plan most people pick.
Why weekly
Bermuda and St. Augustine grow fast here from spring through summer. After a good rain they can shoot up in a few days.
A general rule with grass is not to cut off more than about a third of the blade at once. Take more than that and the lawn can scalp and look brown for a while. When the grass grows that fast, the only way to stay under a third is to mow more often. That's what the weekly plan is for.
Who it's for
- People who want the yard looking freshly cut most of the week.
- Big yards, which pile up a lot of growth in a week.
- Lawns that look shaggy by day ten on a two-week schedule.
What I do each week
- Mow the front and back yard
- String trim along fences, around trees and around beds
- Edge along the sidewalk and driveway
- Blow the clippings off the concrete
