Sidewalks and alleys

A lot of Plano neighborhoods have sidewalks out front and garages on a back alley. More concrete means more edging, and I edge the sidewalk and driveway every visit.

Older lawns

Older lawns often have thin spots under trees. Mowing at the right height and not taking too much off at once gives them the best chance to fill back in.

Plano may have watering rules too. Watering deep and less often is better than a little every day.

Every visit

• Mow the front and back yard
• String trim along fences, around trees and around beds
• Edge along the sidewalk and driveway
• Blow the clippings off the concrete
